The main purpose of maintenance is that machines and plants are always in working order, because their correctness is a prerequisite for continuous production. Maintenance should guarantee that the machines and the plant will be available for as long as possible and that care should be taken to ensure that there is no breakdown, but also due to such a situation that the breakdown is rectified as soon as possible.
The central workshop, as well as the service-drive workshop in Omarska, perform mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, and car servicing.
Today we have all the results of work in an upward trajectory. We have all the necessary tools and equipment, which has helped a lot in maintaining the quality of our business. In the professional part, we have also made significant progress and are improving daily. Our goal is to improve diagnostics in the fields of mechanics, autoelectrics and automation.
Mechanical maintenance provides the following services for internal needs and the external market:
Overhaul of machines and plants:
– overhaul and intermediate repairs of mobile mining machinery,
– overhaul of stable plants for ore processing – reducers,
– mechanical assemblies and drives,
– production and repair of structural parts
– creation of the structure according to the technical documentation in the workshop and in the field
– procedures for the processing of openings in the field with special purpose mobile machines.
Autogenous welding and cutting procedures, welding, and surfacing procedures, REL procedure, MAG procedure, TIG procedure are used in the work.
The department is equipped with stable presses for achieving forces from 300 to 1000 kN, mobile presses with special tools and pressing forces up to 1500 kN, machines for bending sheets and smaller profiles, machines for making CAT hydraulic hoses and various specialized tools.
Mechanical and thermal processing
At the same time, finishing and production of spare parts in a wide assortment and small series is carried out. We have universal lathes, milling machines, planers, machines for processing all parts of SUS engines with a power of up to 250 kW, oscillating saws, drill presses in three versions (for smaller and larger assemblies), radial drills (stable and mobile) for field work.
The thermal treatment department carries out the processes of tempering, improvement, annealing and cementation in coal dust. Cooling agents are water and oil baths.
Engines and gearboxes
Where SUS engines, power up to 850 kW, mechanical-hydraulic gearboxes and their components are disassembled. The department has special tools for repairing, assembling and disassembling engine assemblies of all types, represented in ArcelorMittal Prijedor.
Tool room
Where storage and repair is carried out: accessories, control and measuring tools, cutting tools, various types of special tools and mechanical and locksmith tools.
Construction bureau
Creation and storage of technical documentation. The archive of the bureau has over 15,000 drawings of parts of assemblies and sub-assemblies grouped according to the adopted nomenclature.
Electrical maintenance provides the following services for internal needs and the external market, such as:
– Overhaul of asynchronous electric motors up to 500kV,
– overhaul of collector DC motors,
– overhaul and repair of appliances and devices,
– electrical power measurements and tests of low and high voltage,
– distribution and maintenance of electric power installations, etc.
