Environmental protection occupies an important place within the company ArcelorMittal Prijedor. The environmental impact study determined the aspects of the Omarska mine’s impact on the environment, i.e. on water, air and soil. In accordance with these aspects, noise, dust, wastewater, and seismic impacts are regularly monitored. Also, by sorting waste, and especially by disposing of different types of waste by authorized institutions, we protect the environment in such a way as to prevent disposal in nature, reuse certain materials and recycle potential raw materials.

Our goal is to ensure the continuous improvement of the environment by monitoring the state and possible risks, defining the policies that will be applied, determining the actions and tools that will be used, regularly monitoring reports related to the environment and transferring the acquired knowledge and information to others with the aim of creating awareness about the importance of a healthy environment.
