With the exceptional effort and dedication of the team for the implementation of the project and the commitment of the workers selected for these tasks, the implementation began with full momentum, and in a very short time the mine began to take its shape.
Satisfied with achieved till date, Milan Vuković, B.Sc.Mining, the technical manager of SP “Ciganuša” commented on performed activities:
“After a long time of uncertainty, expectations and hopes, it finally happened, we started the activity of starting mining production in the Ljubija Mine. Based on the excavation of an industrial sample of 120,000 tons during 2020, and then the successful metallurgical trial of the use of carbonate ore in the ironworks and the agreement with the Government of Republic of Srpska, we started making plans in December last year.
Comprehensive plans were drawn up on the necessary documentation and approvals for the execution of works, the entire way of functioning of the Mine, mechanization, workforce, masses, capacities, zones of excavation, disposal, quality, and others were designed. A detailed plan of preparatory activities necessary to start the excavation process at the Ljubije site was also prepared.
During the month of May, we started with the realization of the planned preparatory activities, and with our own resources, people and equipment, in less than three months, we did the following:
– Provided all the necessary logistics for the functioning of the site (water, electricity, food, accommodation, transportation, supply of energy, security, toilet…),
– We have transported all machinery and equipment,
– Formed a temporary base,
– Created a transport road to the top of the Ciganuš mine, from elevation 230 to elevation 340,
– Enabled access to the Ciganuš landfill,
– Created multi-storey roads (340, 300, 290, 280),
– Carried out partial relocation and arrangement of local streams in a length of about 800 m,
– Moved the local macadam road with a length of 600 m,
– Created a 600 m long transport road to the Gradina landfill,
– Filled the plateau for the future administrative building and base with an area of about 20,000 m²,
– Installed and put into operation the transformer station and enabled the supply of electrical consumers with high and low voltage,
– Installed the pump and drained the deep part of the mine,
– Created a system for filling the cistern with water to knock down dust on the mine,
– Started construction of the road to the Škorac mine.
In addition to these mentioned works, there are ongoing works that are being carried out by external provider, the creation of project documentation, the creation of two reinforced concrete crossings and the relocation of HV transmission lines.
All these activities would not have been done without the extraordinary commitment, work, effort, knowledge, and I don’t have a good enough term to describe the work of the last three months, of these extremely dedicated twenty people engaged in Ljubija.
I also have to emphasize the great help and contribution of all the departments that were always at our disposal when we needed it. ”
